*I was raised on a horse ranch, my father bred Quarter Horses, and I am
quite aware of what many animals beside horses go through before being
allowed to die. It is disgusting, I agree. But that does not exclude
the need for certain products. Kosher butchering hangs an animal up and
slits its throat, but still people buy the meat and eat it. I think it
is better for a product to be used thriftily than to be discarded
because the way it died was objectionable. Just my opinion. I do not
feed my dogs raw horsemeat. Doris E*
