Sharon, you have to separate the issues. I don't know why you're picking on
Paul, but we have those who voted "yes" because they didn't feel, given the
current bylaws and their fiduciary responsibilities as board members that
they COULD vote "no".
Now, you'll get Peggy et. all to say "can too", "can too", "can too" and
you'll get others to read the bylaws and say "nope, over a certain age, in good
standing with the AKC, paid $66 and they're a member".
I didn't hear anyone say Hunte's membership was a GOOD idea.
Now, you and others can go on and on about how bad puppy mills are, how bad
things are for the breeding stock....all day long. That doesn't change the
bylaws, does it?
It will be interesting to see how this new vote shakes out and if members
have sought their own legal counsel for advice. Yes, I know we have attorneys
on the board and on the list, but ask a room full of legal eagles how Anna
Nicole's will is going to turn out if you REALLY want a whole bunch of
opinions.
But if you want to rehash the puppy mill problems, that's fine. I'll just
delete.
