[ SHOWGSD-L ] Re: gas prices

Society, here at least, has us so pressed for time that we could not possibly
find time to make current alternatives possible.
My son is a kid, not a machine, yet in order to ensure him acceptance to the
colleges he might chose, he must, beginning this summer, spend more than his
spare time doing good works. Good works are good to do to be sure, but he is a
kid and he is a serious student. How is he supposed to make time for more than
school.
Both my boys have friends that they cannot really be friends with, they are
too busy with sport, church, after school activities. How do kids find time
for the 3 or more hours of homework, how do they find time to eat enough to
worry about their weight, how do they sleep?
To make this dog related, I don't get the kind of help mom did with puppies,
I am very much alone in my animal husbandry.

The real issue goes back to our "want it now - without effort"
society. The people who are using the cooking oil have to go get it,
strain it and then use it. Most of us are just not that interested. I
don't know about the rest of the world, but I just do not have time. As
long as we will pay it, we will have to.
