ON the subject of training. The smartest dog in the world is the Border

Paul opines...

Norma's 2nd point is definitely true but we're not sure on da foist. Reason
is...we can't get them away from their therapists long enough to test em'.

Hey now! I was going to stay out of it until Paul took it to a personal
level :-)

Ch. Cassie's bestest buddy in the whole world is her "step" brother, Border
Collie Radar. He has NO bizarre behaviors and is really much easier to live
with in the house than my Golden Retriever AND many GSDs that have lived with
me (not naming names :-) ). Radar is truly BRILLIANT. More than being
really smart, tho, he's VERY BIDDABLE. You show him something and he says,
"Okay! How fast, how high, and how many times?". You say, "Leave me alone."
He
says "OKAY!". You say, "Lie down". He says, "OKAY!". When Cassie was in
season they were both interested in making Border Shepherds. I told him to
get
those nasty thoughts out of his teenage mind and go play agility or herding.
He said, "Okay!" Well, so he was more reluctant to say "okay" that time,
but the point is that he still left her alone -- although I am smart enough
that I didn't trust them together for an instant....and my son was threatened
with neutering (both the son AND Radar) if Cassie had Border Shepherds.

Everyone who has met Radar has loved him....yes, even you Lew :-) Radar is
like the kind of kid that is polite to everybody, is a straight A student,
volunteers in the community, and is a star athlete. I'm trying to figure out
how to make my human kids turn out 1/2 as nice as this dog. Maybe the kid's
pedigrees weren't as good...

Really, Paul, if you met Radar, you'd love him. Jennifer would work him
ONCE and then steal him. He's an awesome herding dog and my, oh my, you
should
see the outruns he's doing now....
