ACtually if "Common Joe" knew the TRUE COST he would have a HEART ATTACK;Â
Total cost over the life time of a Registered Dog is close to $35,000; or as
the Study stated a BMW.

Steven, somehow "common Joe" is still able to come up with 2500K to 3,000K for
German bred puppies.
Anyhow, I'm a "common Joe" and I think 1,000K - 2,000K for a show prospect is
very reasonable. Actually, more than reasonable considering the amount of
hard work and dedication it takes to produce a decent show prospect. When I
first became interested in showing, I was told that the purchase price of a
prospect is negligible when compared to what it will cost to finish the dog.

Does it really mater? The economy the price of gas, handlers fees, travelÂ
costs, is it little wonder showing our beloved GSD's has indeed become a
rich mans sport "my humble opinion" include the cost of purchasing a "top
quality"Â show pup these days, pretty incredible and rideculous to be honest.

love this breed dearly, but I can tell you as someone who is not rich, all
those folks trying to increase participation need to rethink the approach,
