I agree with you Chris. I'll also add, and maybe it's because I started in OB where we had a stand for exam and a moving stand...that it's easier to train and "proof" a dog than it is to be able to count on what will happen in a ring, ob OR breed. I can't worry about how a judge approaches or thumps or wants to check tonsils or stalks. I've had judges (2) fall on dogs. I take puppies outside of an indoor where people are smoking to get them used to smoke. (Dog's, if they have never been exposed, HATE cigarette smoke). Ditto strong perfume. I get up way too early in the AM on show days to leave such things to chance. I go back to having the dogs live underfoot and not warehoused in kennel runs. Sound dogs that live underfoot are bomb proof.
