[ SHOWGSD-L ] White German Shepherd Clubs

I don't speak for the whites. Nor do I speak for the blacks. Hell, I don't
speak for anyone other than myself.
From what I understand the white folks want to eliminate the color as a
disqualifying fault. They know that after 90 years or so, they are not going
to win in conformation. But, they believe they are German shepherds, and
they should be recognized as such.
I may be wrong, but those I have spoken to feel that if white was not a
disqualifying fault in conformation, then they would be treated as an equal
in all aspects of the breed. They do now compete in obedience, rally, etc.
That change would open the entire range of our breed to them.
It is an interesting question. Today I read a copy of a letter written to
the AKC by someone who believes the whites should be allowed in the
conformation ring. It was an interesting letter. If the List administrators
would
allow me to do so, I would post it. It is well reasoned, without passion,
and a personal life experience that helped to form an opinion.
Not that there is anything wrong with that.
