Maybe it's just what you enjoy more. Or, maybe you need to re-try the way
you started. In the last year, I have gone back to my roots. Juniors (ok, I'm
not a Junior, just mentoring them, LOL!), obedience and even herding. I am
finding more satisfaction in those venues than in showing. That's not to say
I've had bad experiences in showing, some have been very good. But, in the
performance events, the teamwork with myself and my dogs and the support from
others, makes it rewarding and fun. I am not ready to give up on any of these
venues. But, I would sure lean to giving up showing before the other events.
Why? That would be too long to put in a post. Mainly, it would be because I
can succeed with my own dogs in performance events without the politics and
handlers and money involved in showing and finishing a dog. Yes, there are
exceptions and I am determined to be one of them. But, if I have to make a
choice,
I know what it will be. Bottom line, I enjoy and have fun with anything I do
with my dogs. If one of those things isn't fun anymore, we will pick the one
that is fun. Getting too old to waste my time on things that don't work for
me but young enough to want to do it myself, LOL!.
