Hello, Question for the genetic literates in the crowd. My friends have a young bitch that bloated, and during surgery found out she has Von Willebrands. I know there is a genetic component in this disease, as well as a genetic test to determine affected/carrier/clear status, as well as a test we use at work to determine if they are affected, so I know where to go that way if I want to test a dog. My question is, what is the inheritance of this disease? Is it simple recessive or is it like mega where there are modes of penetrance that makes it more complicated? I havent found a website that breaks it down for our breed. I'm just curious, of course I have to know details lol. Catherine Morton LVT Sent from Yahoo!
