Not sure who you are speaking with, in AWSA, but the two officers I am in touch
with say they are not in agreement with being a BBS in FSS. And, when a
couple of AWSA breeders were asked, they said NO to being a BBS.

That is NOT true! AWSA did not come to the meeting
because, by its constitution and bylaws, AWSA is a club
for the White Shepherd! AWSA does not represent the BBS.
We asked for a postponement but were informed that would
not be possible. Since no one had any prior knowledge of
any new club *and* since our members hadn't had any input
on it, the only ethical thing we could do was pull out of
the meeting.
It's not that AWSA doesn't WANT to be BBS. Right now,
the club legally cannot. This is because the Swiss mother
club has rejected any and all dogs and lines that have GSD
blood close-up in the pedigrees. Until such time that they
loosen up their rules to accommodate the fact that, here
in North America, AKC and CKC register/recognize our White
Shepherds as GSDs, regardless of what our little private
registry may call them; and until the Swiss club agrees to
allow us to have a chance to follow the FCI circular, we
cannot merge our White Shepherds (neither AWSA dogs
*nor* the UKC breed) with the BBS breed and bloodlines.
European breeders had a huge jump on us because the SV
declared long ago that no white dog shall have
registration 'papers' stating they were a GSD. Too bad
that didn't happen here. :(
