Super paper Paula, thank you.

BTW, the Morton's "Wild Caught Pacific Salmon" marinated/grill flavor I
just purchased for my dad has citric acid in it (corn). The Trident Pacific
Cod I bought for me has...surprise....cod.

I'm getting compulsive...no?

And does a dog have the enzyme to digest soy.If itdoesn't
then it just passes
through the body :0)

Subject: [ SHOWGSD-L ] Re: Soy question

Soy added to "our" food system (and the dogs) is a cheap source of
protein
and very different from the fermented soy products famous in the pacific
rim countries w/ all of their health benefits. I avoid it
in human and dog
food.

That said, I realize that the beef and chicken in the dog's food has
been
fed....soy. (And corn, so even if your dog food doesn't
specifically list
corn and/or even if you feed raw, your dogs eat corn.)

You really have to be diligent to avoid in it our food BTW...it's
not
always listed as "soy". People see "soy" and thing tofu and make a
"good for
you connection". Not always so. That explains why
certain cancers are
lower in pacific rim counties, then "we" added a bunch of soy to
things and see

statistically very different outcomes....

Does it increase the incidence of bloat? Who knows. Put me
in the camp
that says there is certainly a genetic component w/ occasional
environmental
"triggers". So, until science gives us concrete answers, I
scrutinize
pedigrees and do my damndest to control their environment...and
pray.

Sorry, another dog food question...some say there is a connection
between
feeding dog food with soy and bloat...others say their is not. Is
soy flour
or soybean meal the same as soy and would you avoid this in your
food?
