Do they pay sales tax on transfers of dogs or garage sales, too? I don't
think anybody is having problems with the sales tax, just the information
gathered (remember, we're in CA :-D) and the fact that the AR people are saying
how
much we're contributing to the CA budget problem by not paying the tax.
(.00012 percent of the CA budget, they are estimating...unless it's the "other
side" when its LOTS LOTS more LOL. So we pay for licenses (some of us :-),
breeders' fees, intact dog fees, then a sales tax. hmmm And the fact that
the
sale of 2 or more earthworms (not kidding!) is supposed to get a resale #
makes me break out in a hearty, but sad, laugh.
Of course a resale # means that those who have it can buy supplies for their
animals w/out paying tax at wholesalers, and LOTS more paperwork for the BOE.
So the sales tax will end up costing the State, not helping the money
situation. I think. I agree that if you are in "business" of selling, you
certainly should pay whatever, but occasional sales?...I think it's a waste of
the
state's time and money. IMO
