When I lived in California years ago I also had a sales tax number and paid
taxes on sales. It also allowed me to not pay taxes on a lot of things and
buy many items at wholesale prices. I did not mind paying my share.

I have a sales tax number also. Pay tax on all sales related to my business
but do not pay sales tax on any items related to it. When I had litters I
had to pay tax on all puppy sales but never paid tax on dog food , supplies
etc. It is a trade off
