It doesn't mean that it will be achieved with every puppy or every breeding.....but we breed to improve the breed and the breed's purpose. So, as others said, one out of every other litter or so just may be able to "do it all"; herding, tracking, otch, sch, etc, etc. This may be the exception....but it is what we (IMHO) strive for. I seldom breed anymore. I leave most of that to my daughter. She socializes puppies from day one. She puts a tremendous amount of love & attention into each and every puppy, on a one on one basis.. I see no reason that almost each puppy in a litter , raised this way, cannot do it all. Learning begins with birth. Remember, you can only get out of a dog what YOU have put into him.
