I'm kind of curious after reading these two posts.
Aren't the video tapes we see of the Seiger show .....the 'best' of the
European
dogs?
When we look at the line going around and around showing the Seiger and
Seigerin
and the dogs in order that they are rated behind them....are they not
necessarily the
best??

The people who know, have been saying that for years now, to some of those
who have paid
tremendous amounts of money for an imported dog; "that few European breeders
will sell
anything good to someone in this country despite the fact that some will pay
thru the nose just
to be able to say that they did regardless of the quality of what they
received.
Those Europeans laugh as they run to deposit the money from the stereotype
American fool.
Not my opinion, just stating what has been known for years...I think it goes
back to the old
American stereotype thought pattern, that if it is imported it must be
good"..GRIN!...
For those who have purchased imported GSDs, please note I said SOME, not

Personally, I don't think we can make that determination. There are far too
few European
dogs here to really make that judgement (IMHO).
Remember, they have little motivation to sell their very best into this
country. It would be like us
selling our top dogs to another country where they would not earn American
titles that promote
our breeding programs.
