I couldn't agree with Dr. Kruger more. I have studied bloat for over 10 years, and wrote the original article titled "Prevention of Bloat and Torsion in Dogs" in 1999 (which has been plagerized several times over). Bloat is basically caused by a "domino effect" of the right circumstances, such as stress that destroys probiotic bacteria in the dog's digestive system, along with poor digestion of grains and carbohydrates (which probiotic bacteria help digest). I do believe that it is caused by inherently poor digestion that is tipped out of balance in certain individuals due to stress. I also believe it can prevented with proper management, such as a diet that has fresh raw meat added daily, such as the one suggested by Dr. Kruger for the prevention of Toxic Gut Syndrome featured in a Review article in November of 1990. -Jessica Claus _________________________________________________________________ Is your PC infected?
