Gail.....undershot is when the lower jaw ( teeth ) are in front of the upper
jaw ( teeth ). What you are describing is overshot and it probably should
correct. I had one like that when he was six and a half months old. His bite
turned out fine. I am not sure about the canine teeth cutting into the jaw
though. Are these his adult canine teeth or does he still have his baby canine
teeth? If they are his adult teeth you might want to take him to a dentist
and see what he says. When Harley was six months old I had to take him to a
dentist and have all his baby canine teeth pulled out. They were not even loose
and they were messing up his mouth. The big ones were coming in and the
little ones were going nowhere. HTH.

Acquired a pup at about 8 weeks old, no problems - pup is now 5 1/2 months old
and has undershot lower jaw (upper teeth are about 1/4 inch over the bottom
teeth). Â At this age what are the chances this will correct? Â The lower right
canine is cutting into the gum around the upper canine slightly at this piont -
if it does NOT correct, what is the general outcome for this type of situation?
 Normal life, or teeth filed, or teeth removed?  I have not dealt with this
situation before - seeking some guidance - the pup will be placed but only if I
can give the new owners some idea of what they are looking at with regards to
