Why wouldn't you use one of those studs that you think are wonderful selects that are well bred and you love them structurally with a bitch with a background of deep dark pigment??? Carolyn marhaven@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx www.Marhaven.com ----- Original Message ----- From: Barbara Galasso To: 'Showgsd-l' Sent: Thursday, November 20, 2008 7:20 AM Subject: [ SHOWGSD-L ] Pigment Just how important is pigment in our breed? Nothing is more attractive than a dog that has beautiful rich pigment, IMO. There are a few males that I really like, but I have a hard time getting past their pigment. In the last few years there have been a couple of Selects that are very well bred and I really like them structurally, but they lack in pigment. Do you think pigment is a problem in our breed? What does one do when you like a stud in all other areas, but his pigment? Although I'm a confessed "movement nut," I still like looking at a pretty dog. Is pigment easy to get again if you loose it by breeding to a stud that lacks it? Barbara ============================================================================ POST is Copyrighted 2008.
