[ SHOWGSD-L ] Re: New question

No, my parents were not breeders of GSD's. They always had a Cocker or a
Springer when I was growing up. But the last dog ended up being a mixed GSD.
He was very mean and even bit several of us. I was so taken by him even
though he was very agressive.
One day we met one of my old babysitter's from S.F. and she had GS Bitches.
She asked me to baby sit her two daughters while she and her husband went to
the dog shows. In due time her husband lost interest and then he stayed
home with their girls and I went to the shows. At one show I was asked if I
wanted to show one of them in Junior Showmanship. Well, did it and that
started
it all for me. The rest was all history.
My first male was the pick of a litter chosen by Cappy Pottle. He was sired
by Can. Ch. Paktoria's Applejack (Yorkdom's Pak ex Hessian's Victoria) and
Ch. Camlett's Jill (Ch. Santana's Man O War daughter). Cappy Pottle and Jean
Stevens hired me to work at the kennel (Tucker Hill) on weekends
occassionally and this was how I earned money to show my dog the other
weekends.
I too am grateful to Cappy Pottle and Jean Stevens for all their help and to
this day as well. Also other special people that were very helpful during
those times were Valerie Nelson, Russ and Beryl Eshom and Mary Major. They
were "My family" that believed in me to be a GSD Fancier.
