When Tedi found the house we are in, it was over 50 years old, and had
never been updated.

She ripped up the old green shag carpeting, and it had natural wood floors.
We both agreed, we hated wood floors. They are cold, scratch, are loud,
and uncomfortable.

So, we put in inexpensive carpeting.

Now about ten years later, the carpet was worn, so we decided we wanted to
replace it. Tedi had it pulled up, and informed me that we now liked wood
floors. I didn't know that, but it is fortunate that she knew it and told
me so.

We had some estimated to redo the floors, (not expensive) and after about a
week, I came home to find carpet samples. I asked if we had changed our
minds again, and was told we had not decided yet. Then they came and
sanded all the floors, replaced the damaged wood, and refinished it all.

We ended up with wood floors. It does look great.

Then we got some rugs, and that seems to be what we want.

I did use some of the new artificial wood stuff at the office in the
conference room, and it does not scratch, looks great, and is laminate, but
looks the same as our real wood. I have had it for about two years.

I wonder what I like better, the laminate or the natural wood? When I get
home, I will ask Tedi.

We moved here 6 yrs. ago. In our old house, I ripped up carpet to expose
the hardwood floors and put vinyl floor covering down. Now that I'm ready

to do this again, there are so many choices and it's very confusing.
