How? He doesn't make breeding decisions for me. Or for anyone else for that
matter.
Furthermore, how is he damaging the breed anymore than the "show breeder"
that breeds a dog KNOWN to produce DM, Mega, heart problems or any of
another debilitating genetic conditions? How is it any more damaging than
breeding a Dysplastic dog? Or breeding one that has serious temperament
issues?
How is it any more "damaging" to the breed than the 'big name' breeder that
sells a "show quality" dog to the unsuspecting novice that said breeder
knows is a pet? Poor unsuspecting novice doesn't find out until he/she tries
to show the dog and it won't win. Or worse yet sells the unsuspecting
novice a dog with a genetic defect, costing mega bucks to treat, and refuses
to refund any money?
How is it any more damaging to the breed than the handler that continues to
rake in the money from a trusting owner knowing the dog is not and never
will be finishable? "Gas money" dogs... you all know they are out there. Or
the handler that takes money from a client and then shows his/her own dogs
first?
Just because he is more visible?
And btw.... the little known fact, that noone wants to believe is... MOST
puppies sold in pet stores live long and happy lives. We always hear about
the bad ones. Typical media coverage... if it bleeds it leads. IE... only
bad news gets reported.
The majority of dogs that end up in shelters did not come from 'deliberate'
breeders, or even from pet stores. They come from 'random' bred mutts that
people don't seem to have the desire to CONTAIN.
