" I would be more inclined to question those who sell to him." Doris E*

Doris has raised another interesting point. Has anyone on the list ever sold
puppies to Mr. Hunte? Or, knows of any PC member who has sold puppies to
Mr.Hunte for re-sale. Would anyone on the list who is participating in this
thread sell puppies to Mr. Hunte for re-sale?
Just some thoughts! How about this one. If I chose to sell a litter of pups to
Mr. Hunte for re-sale at petshops around the country, what would I charge per
puppy? Considering his proposed expertise in selling puppies on a nationwide
venue I wonder what his bidding price per puppy would be. Considering his large
overhead (transportation, feeding, etc.) I think it would be less than half of
the, let's say the 8 to 1200 dollars a breeder would get per puppy. Or, could I
perhaps ask for a percentage of the mark up by the petshop over the price I
sell it to him for. Oh, the mind boggles at the possible questions he might
pose as to the quality of your stock, your experience breeding and your
committment to the STANDARD! Yea,right!

Or, to be more advantageous to regional clubs who are struggling to survive,
maybe clubs could
form co-ops and bargain with Mr. Hunte for best prices. Have puppy drives to a
central locations for x-pen inspections. Get a long little doggies. And, at the
National, Mr. Hunte could pick-up a lot of quality dogs, that exhibitors can't
afford to show any more because of declining puppy sales, and really start his
own breeding empire! Perhaps, then under the emprimetor of the GSDCA, Mr. Hunte
could solve all of the regional and PC financial problems by sponsoring all the
Futurities/Maturities and the National show.

Listen, I personally don't know the man, since I heard he owns a German
Shepherd, he probably is a decent person. However, it is his business practices
and how they totally disregard the goals of the PC that more than makes me
nervous. It's hard as hell enough debunking local backyard breeders
who don't have the slightest idea of the Standard, but possibly dealing with an
even greater threat to the soundness of our breed.

Just think about the some of possible long term consequences. I'm not
addressing tommorrow, I'm addressing the future. Food for thought.
