[ SHOWGSD-L ] History of the breed and breeders

I was rereading a book The German Shepherd Dog Today (Strickland and Moses) and
enjoyed seeing the greats from 20 some years ago. There were many kennel names
that I no longer see. Is there a book that is a history of the kennels, dogs,
and breeders throughout the history of the breed. I'm new so don't know which
people are associated with what kennels. I'd like to know what happened to the
kennels that we no longer see. Karen Lollar
