I met a woman and her service GSD at the golf course today. She was trained
to detect seizures. The woman had other issues as well. The dog was all
business until the woman removed the vest and then, the dog was kissy and
friendly. When the vest went back on, the dog sat by her owners side and
ignored the rest of us. I was so proud! The dog was a beautiful coat.

Our club meeting last night had a program done by the user of a diabetic
alert dog. It was interesting to hear about how the dog can actually be
"tuned" to a specific blood sugar level. Like your pup, his dog also
started alerting on his own early in life and it is now a 24/7 job. He and
his owner travel all over the country as the owner in in the hotel business.
After all these years I am constantly more in awe of dogs - especially our
breed.
