An honest judge knows how to handle this situation. Story goes that a handler told the judge he needed one point to finish his dog during the individual judging. The judge stopped and announced to the ring side audience that that dog needed one point to finish according to the handler. The judge then asks all the other handlers in the ring how many points their dog needed. Bet the handler learned a lesson. Be it perception or reality (I think reality) there are judges and clubs out there with the reputation for putting in the "fix." Just ask around about clubs that cancel shows because they have no, repeat no, entries. Handlers do not enter when they know the outcome. This happens and the parent club should have a procedure for dealing with it. AKC probably does but who is going to report it to them for investigation.
