Ha,
GOOD LUCK getting anything off the ground.? I have tried for YEARS.? Almost got
thrown out of the Nationals in Ohio because of this exact thing.? YOU ARE NOT
ALLOWED to SELL dogs at the SHows... I was told this VERY MEANLY.?
VERY Meanly.?
The GSD / AKC is shooting itself in the foot!? Every Year...Less and Less
people showing... WHAT better place to let everyone know a dog is available
than at the Nationals!!!?
I started the PINK BANDANA thing 2 yrs ago.? Wear A pink Bandana around the dog
and walk it around.? SOme people knew...Some asked...Some were mad.? Ugh.? I
even GAVE pink Bandanas away!!!?
Put an ad on as many sites as you wish...it still isn't as good as seeing the
dog in person right at the Nationals.?

Hi Guys
Well I know this has been touched on before, and nobody seemed to have a way
to do this, but it may be
worthwhile.?? How can we as entrants or owners or breeders make it known
that Dog Y or Bitch X ,
will be available and will also be at the National, whether entered or just
along for the ride?
I know there are AKC rules regarding the sale of dogs on show grounds,
parking lots etc....
but what if we were to compile a list of available dogs BEFORE the National,
what class he /she
may be in, or if not them, their progeny, siblings or sire and dam, and a
way to quietly and subtley
designate who may be a contact for said dog at Nationals?....if actual
transactions are done OFF showgrounds
( eventhough we all know sales are made all the time at the Nationals) then
this could be a valuable tool
for those with good dogs to sell or place.
Ideas?? (no I don't think the bandana thing will fly with the AKC, but not
sure)
Maybe a sticker or bandana tied to a stall or person would indicate they
have a dog there that is available?
Intriguing idea.
