I have kept track in my head who said what when. Mostly it was pretty
consistent no matter if it was Bill, Sharon, or the Ballot company which was
quoted on the list a few days back.

They need the big numbers to be left exposed so that they can more quickly
match it to a member, but the signature on the front can be used to compare if
it is legable. The rest can be marked out to prevent the USPS from reading the
wrong side.

So, if the entire envelope is blacked out on the back they will go by hand
and compare the signature. It is not policy, just because they usually depend
on a computer to read the bar codes on the back. They can do it the old
fashion way, like Evan does for the Sheltie club. Alone, in silence, with
nothing to do but read bad handwritting.

Amy, each ballot is cross checked to be sure that the vote comes from a GSDCA
member. While this is going to be much more time consuming than it would have
been if the ballot company had not made the envelopes so that they can be
returned to sender, as long as the envelope can be traced back to a member and
the signature appears close enough, the votes will be counted.

You know I sure hope your right, but I dont think there has been any official
word from the ballot company what they will and will not accept. I've heard
that they wont accept any ballot that has the bar codes on the back scratch
out...but this is speculation also...

The members need an official word from the ballot company in writing as to
what they will and will not accept. I'm done ... I want it straight from the
ballot company...I really dont think I'm asking too much.
