The Germans do not show longcoats. They are a disqualifying (elimination) fault.
l) Long coat (long, soft outer coat without undercoat). This coat type
frequently is parted along the center line of the back, has flags on ears,
legs, and tail.
They do have a separate class and association for working stock coats.
There is a big difference.
The flaw here is with the judges who are apparently unable to judge to the AKC
standard.
