I feel the same way about ear taping and gluing. It's not exactly frowned upon
either...
I've heard it said that they don't run on their ears, so what's the big deal.
Well, they don't run on their eyes either, so aren't these both similar
situations.
There's no consistency where people drawl the line.

Not me! Why not ask how many are really altering? IE: dead tails,
adding a tooth, dying dogs, drugs given to improve attitude right
before the dogs go into the ring, tacking animals and then not
admitting it to the public, fixing ears--the list goes on and on and on.
Lee, to answer your question--it is much more involved, regarding eye
color. Even if the dog's eyes were dark brown to begin with, how
would you KNOW that the dog couldn't PRODUCE light eyes--he could be a
genetic carrier for light eyes, bad hips, elbows, temperament, etc.
Same scenario--dog with light eyes could be a carrier for dark eyes.
Genetics is interesting.
