That's funny - Beaumont is WEST? Ft Collins is at least 1000 miles from those
of us in the west. (1200 from Portland, farther from LA or Seattle) Utah was
about 850 miles. I guess our driving distances do not count.
Maybe someone should offer geography lessons. KANSAS is the geographic center
of the country - It is a line that runs through Dallas, Wichita, - that is the
CENTER of the country.
Most of the Nationals have been located so you could reach them more easily
than most - no mountain ranges, fairly easy interstate driving - and you are
complaining? And since I like Michigan, why not find a nice location in
Michigan? Many of the National exhibitors live within and easy drive so why
bother with St Louis? Parts of Michigan are closer to us ... besides, once you
get to that western outpost of Ft Collins, it is pretty much all down hill to
Michigan and the driving is easy.

We have never had rotation unless it has been west in recent years, We had
Beaumont (west), Denver (west) Springfield (mw) Utah (west) Topeka (mw) and
Denver (west). I could only drive to two of the six in less than two days and
I live in the Midwest. The east coast people don't complain and they have had
to drive days to most of the recent nationals.
Our board has tried to do what's best for the GSDCA and it has been known for a
while that we need to save money and save it they will by going to St Louis.
After Utah, I will never fly a dog again and am staying home from Denver, too
far to drive, but you don't hear me or most of the others that aren't going
complaining.
Many of the biggest complainers don't go to Nationals no matter where they are
and more don't show at Nationals either.

There was not a vote by the membership. The membership was surveyed and the
BOARD
voted for the rotation based on the survey results...
