I am one of those old people that can remember when Futurity & Maturity
were treated as sweeps they had cash refunds....the National sent a list
and a
single check to each club to disburse funds in the fall of the year....as a
treasurer at that time I can remember writing

My thought on the subject is to have a FUTURITY/MATURITY entrant(s) pay an
entry fee with the hopes of winning some percentage of $$ in return for
their overall placements (1 thru 4) like a sweepstakes. Otherwise it's just

My bitch is a GL nominated but only GL entered because my prefered Region
had a judge change. Not many judges appreciate a Black. Hopefully next years
crop will be good ones. I told a couple of people that for the most part
this years judges were pretty good just not all were good for a Black.

When I DID enter the System, (4 or 5 years worth), it was quickly
obvious that it was a SHOW, not a match, no matter what it was
called. Asking litter mates owners to come show in the "match" was
embarrassing to me, actually. Not because they were not pro handlers,
but because of the obvious preferences from the judge(s). Two years
(before and after getting the whole litter there), I had handlers.
The difference was amazing in attitude of the judge(s). These were
all different judges, so maybe it's apples and oranges and unless NO
pup is allowed with a hander that is paid to show it. The pups
themselves went on to win in Specialty rings, so the quality was there.
I know that the cry would be that we are all getting older and can't
get around the ring any longer (JUST hit that level this year LOL),
but these are PUPPIES. I don't think there should be pro handlers and
I'm with Ed. Show them all in the region in which they were born. If
they have been sold to another region, is that any different than
schlepping the pups from one region to another for favorable judges.
There must be an answer, other than going to Corgies:-)
Since I'm one of those that don't have pups any longer, so my opinion
is probably worth the paper it's written on. (in this case,
cyberspace trash:-)
