SF to Purina is about 2,000 miles and 30 hours driving at the legal
speed or however Google figures it out. I calculate things differently,
i.e. 50mph average so that is 20 hours of driving, worse case, 24 hours, an
easy 2 day drive. You can be pretty efficient if you use the restroom
when getting gas and bring food with or hit the takeout and eat on the road.
When traveling with someone else who can help with driving, you can drive
straight through, not pay for a room, and get there in a day. It is a
choice to take three days vs. two or even one.
LA to purina is 150 miles close than SF so that is 3 hours less driving
time.
Not an endorsement of a central location, but the population center of
the US is Plato, MO, 120 miles southwest of Purina. 20-30 years ago, the
population center was Purina.
