I agree 100%.  I gave "sure grow" which is calcium tablets.  I  finally found 
a great home for him, one that understood he may or may not come  up on his 
pasterns.  He was also a fussy eater.  Being the worry  wart that they were 
they took him to the vet and ran every possible  test.  All came back negative 
and normal....except he had high level  of  calcium.
So, my feelings that it is a calcium deficiency is bogus.
