Hi Tammy,
First let me say that I am so very thankful that the subject of DM has been the
topic of discussion often, in resent months. As far as your situation, I would
wonder if the owner of the Dam had the "Flash" test (as I understand it is no
longer used) instead of the DNA test. The reason I question that is because,
as you know, the DNA test for DM, whether it is done through OFA or DDC, is a
simple cheek swab which certainly does not require a vet to perform it. Also
there could have been a cross contamination on the swab with the DNA of another
dog.

I am awaiting on getting the results of the Dam from her breeder for I will
definitely ask them about retesting because if she is clear there should be
no reason my male is at risk. It is situations like this that makes doing
these tests important because it helps with trying to determine the validity
of the tests. I know that they did not use OFA for their test that is why
not on the OFA database she was tested at the vets office and they sent it
out for her and called with results when they came back in.
I am definitely getting beyond frustrated for none of this is panning out.
