My 50yo daughter is hearing impaired'. I gave her a male shepherd a couple of years ago and she has trained him to alert her when there is someone at the door, when the phone rings, when anyone is getting too close and a few other nifty tricks plus basic obedience.. She had to take proof of her impairment and he dog to the police dept. and prove that the dog was truly trained for the purposes needed for her condition. They issued her a laminated card with all necessary information about the dog. She can take him with her anywhere she wants to go.He is a GREAT representative for the breed and a great advertisement for my breedings. A lot of people ask her where she got such a beautiful, intelligent dog. Bud ============================================================================ POST is Copyrighted 2012.
