[ SHOWGSD-L ] Chickens and ?????

On one of my stops today I got to peak into a commercial chicken house. This
was a small family ranch. As of the beginning of 2014 he is killing half of his
laying hens. Why you may ask? Well California has voted on increasing the size
of cages for laying hens. Or rather the amount of size for each hen. So you
either build much bigger cages or reduce by half the number of hens.
Interesting, does hsus or peta care about the death of all of those hens? Anja
