I want to add one thing that is not really a question, but a subject for the
Futurity Committee to consider.
In a the recent Contact 'flyer' from the Parent Club I really appreciated that
Frank Fasano has asked
the Futurity Committee to listen to the Membership in considering any changes
to the Futurities system!
Thank you Mr. Fasano!! But then.........Final part of the 'flyer' it says
the Futurity Committee voted
to restrict Clubs from having Handlers judge our Futurities! ?? I can't
help but wonder...... WHY?
Looking at the 2016 Futurities coming up....( before this new ruling ) about
half of the Clubs had Handlers
judging their Futurities and the same with the Alternates....and some breeders.
Specialty Clubs do host
the Futurities and are in general made up of Parent Club members. It seems to
me the Clubs and their
members HAVE spoken??
The requirements are very specific. SO...IF a handler QUALIFIES to judge a
Futurity according to the
requirements.... why then are the Clubs forced to not have one judge their
Futurity?? WHY do we have
"requirements".....if they don't count anyway??? Some of the new Judges were
handlers for years.
That is great! Most of our best judges are ex breeders and ex handlers. WHO
knows the Breed better?
Does a person become "more honest" once they acquire an AKC license....??
Are they suddenly no longer
involved with other handlers, breeders, Exhibitors, showing, etc.? Do they
suddenly actually gain more
wisdom and honesty because they passed the AKC test on paper?
