Very different. People who are in performance aren't looking for a dog with a ton of angulation. Depending on the venue, generally they want a dog that can run and jump not a dog that can trot. Dogs bred for conformation are usually quite different than their performance counterparts. For example, in the CWC breed, the conformation dogs are bigger, and thicker, whereas the performance dogs are smaller, and lighter. While the perfomance Corgis I know are not lacking in substance or bone, they would not win, or at least would have a very hard time at winning in the Conf ring because they're not huge. When people look for a performance GSD they tend to look at German lines which have less angulation, as it is more conducive to jumping and running. Very few performance people (as in, like, none) will go to a GSD specialty line as they feel there is too much angulation and it's no good for things like agility and obedience (once they get to open work).
