Do you remember what year that was? I was late and I remember getting a letter
from the membership person asking me if I could find it in my heart to reapply
and send them another check. I was so mad that I didn't renew my membership
forr a year or 2. Talk about silly decisions some make.

The president at the board meeting claimed that Pearl and Dick Whalen hadn't
sent in the membership on time. Pearl showed her check book and was
considered timely; Dick had a note from his post office about delivery of his

He was rejected, (or his excuse was) and his membership was broken.
I thought the whole thing was mean spirited and said so. I believe if you
miss a year or even two or three, you should be allowed to pay the dues and
be continuous. That would be a nice thing to do, and maybe one of our current
board members could suggest it.
Not that there would be anything wrong with that.
