I wouldn't put too much store in something just because it is posted on the
Leerburg site.

Only way he would have produced?his color?was to have been bred to a
sable....Leerburg kennel owner (European working lines) put a comment on his
web site a few years ago saying there were no longer any American lines that
would produce a black sable.... The list was infuriated... But it was true....
The reason it was true is that we (American breeders) don't often breed sables
to sable... Working line people in Europe do it all the time... you'll have
some European working lines that are sable for 5 and 6 generations (they are
breeding for working and could care less what color the dog is).... THAT is
where your black sables come from and other than breeding sable to sable for
generations if you get a TRUE black sable it is a freak of nature....
