I agree with Ken.  Immobilize for 2 to 4 weeks in a boot depending on the
severity of the tear.  Allow the muscle to heal.  Then begin stretching
passive and active with reduced normal activity (the muscle can tear
again), maybe some ultrasound, soft tissue work and certainly ice..

I have had several patients including myself twice with calf tears.
