Tom, it would be a great idea to review your observations and submit for a Herschel 400 award, although at times that may take a little time. Looking forward to your report.

The way Joe Goss has been observing it wouldn't surprise me if the did 10000. :)) But, alas, it is just a typo.

Thanks for the additional Herschel 400 names, AJ.

I really need to turn on my Burnham's observations, and claim my 1000 list
award. There are 1700 objects north of -50 degrees, and I looked at all of
them between 1985 and 1992. The good news was that there are only a couple
dozen or so Herschel 400 objects that are not already in Burnham's.

Is Joe Goss going for 10000 beyond or 1000 beyond?!?

Tom

Whoops, I missed Jack's message. Actually I haven't been interested in
completing a 1000 list but encourage all to consider. Jack your time will
come and it will be much more rewarding. Don't give up the quest!

So far 3 SAC members have completed this daunting assignment. They are
Steve Coe, 1993; Joe Goss 2005 and David Hofland -whose date is invalid on
my list. David can you give me month and year for the award? I have
something like 20/09, meaning 20th month of 2009.

Rumor has it that Joe Goss is attempting a second 10000 Beyond.

Yes, but what have I done lately? It seems my SAC 1000 Beyond has been
frozen somewhere in the 600's for quite some time now. Call me some kind
of a cockeyed optimist, I'm still shooting for this lifetime.

If I recall Jack was the last member to get there (Dick was in KC when he
did his). I'm 125 away, if the weather would cooperate. :( Clear Skies
