Putting together 3 other notices, he is

Since the first notice has an incorrect initial, should I discard
the date of death it gives, as well, and prefer the 17th? That
date is in only one notice, apparently from his sister, but the
first one matches the funeral notice and lists the entire family.
Age is given elsewhere as 89 years.

The funeral notice gives only initials as well. That is unusual.
