I guess you had to be there.
I had good results from UPS until a year or two ago when
a package was delivered to me by mistake. I called UPS and
they could not have been less interested. After a couple of
days with no action I looked up the recipient, who lived
nearby, called him, and he came around and picked the thing
up. UPS never followed up. I decided I would never again use
them for anything.
OTOH the much maligned USPO seems to be very reliable.
