3006362. MJS wrote me it was part of 800 lenses made in March 1947 at Jena

1947. This lens has the red "T" engraved in the ring.
This is a photograph about the lens when I bought it with the camera. The
camera is a spare parts source for my "true" Contax II with the unciated
Sonnar 1,5/50.The coated 2/50 lens received a CLA two years ago, but I did
not use it yet

Dr Smakula developed for CZJ a reliable process to coat lenses with an
anti-reflective layer in 1935. The process was declared a military secret
by the nazi givernment and it was applied for optical military instruments
only. USA and Great Britain obtained similar results and CZJ was authorized
to use the process for civil commercial purposes at the beginning of 40s'.
A few Sonnar lenses batches were initially coated due to the war. CZ
factories at Jena were almost destroyed during the war and lenses
manufacture was resumed in 1946. I have a coated Sonnar 2/50 for the Contax
II made in March 1947.
CZ and Schneider lenses for the Rollei TLR cameras were coated from
1949.-
German photographic industry almost disappeared during the war and you
could find Rollei TLR cameras with mixed features and strange lenses like
the Xenar 4,5/75 due to the lack of components between 1945 and 1949. The
Rollei factory was 40% destroyed during Brunswick bombings
