Same here. I have a dead one and another one that only works at TTL mode if I have the SCA 305A multi-connect adapter between the SCA356 and the Metz flash or cable. Can't say they are reliable.

Richard,

I have found the SCA356 liable to fail. I have three and two no longer
work. At the time, it was cheaper to buy another secondhand than to
get a repair done at the factory, which I did - so three failures in
total. The factory repair is still going.

On one occasion I tried to be clever and use the SCA356 and plug a
second flash into the sync socket, so one of those failures was an
expensive experiment!

The SCA356 will still fire the flash on auto or manual but with no TTL
control.

My guess would be with the SCA 356. It could be the 6006 but if that
works fine with the SC70, I doubt the camera. Because you have more
than one 45CL4's, unlikely to be all of those either.

You may be able to get the SCA356 checked/repaired but probably would
be back in Germany.

SUBJECT: [rollei_list] Rollei 6006 and SCA356 use

Hello all,

I have used my Rollei 6006 with an SC70 adapter and a Metz 45CT5
flash.  Recently I managed to get a few 45CL4 flashes cheaply, and
bought a SCA356 with SCA300A cable to use with them.  However the TTL
flash does not seem to operate properly.  In the end I found I could
leave the lens cap on and it would still indicate a "good" exposure.
Can anyone suggest what I have done wrong or know of some quirk in the
behavior of the SCA356 + 45CL4?

Thank you,

Richad Urmonas
