Last year I saw "Dunkirk" at my city's Imax theatre; the film was directed
by Christopher Nolan 70mm size is great and the sound too, The bullets
seemed to cross around your head and each time a bullet hit a metal part,
you felt a vibration in your body. This film deserved the Oscar it won for
sound.

Interesting. I saw 2001 three times when it was first released. Each
time from a different area in the old Warner theater. Of course, within
seconds of the start the room filled with the odor of pot. 2001 always
interested me because it was one of the few films that made good use of the
format, both image and sound. BTW, the restorer remarks about the dialog
Keir Dullea has with HAL about singing Daisy Bell, In fact that is the
interpretation I had when I saw it, he was humoring it. I saw "A Clockwork
Orange" when it came out and was very disappointed. I realized then that
there was something very unpleasant in Kubrick's work. I am missing a word
here, read the entire bio of Kubrick on IMDB between this sentence and the
last trying to remember it, so will not go on.
