Completely OT but perhaps interesting. some of you may know that Collins Radio made very upper class equipment for hams. One of the series was the S-Line, still highly desirable both for using and collecting, much like Rollei. The panel finish features a pebbled surface. It turns out that Art Collins, the founder of the company, showed the designers a Leica (not sure what model) and asked for a finish like that on the camera. He liked the look and thought it fitted with the extra deluxe appearance he wanted.
