Theatre, cinema, literature, television, radio, journalism (media now being a 
cultural phenominon in and of itself and not just a reflection thereof), 
fashion, fine art, commercial art, etc etc etc. Take you pick, America has some 
of the finest and the worst of any out there. But to say that it is absent, or 
to mindlessly denegrate all of it, is, well, mindless...

I just watched the movie "DeLovely", the story of Cole Porter's life and
music.  His songs are wonderful and are some of the best examples of 
American culture, which is strongest in the popular culture.
