I know this is kind of coming in late on this thread,

Will anyone this weekend be using APRS tracking on their rockets? I have an
APRS radio (VX-8) and would like to listen in and see if I can decode the
packets reliably with just a handheld antenna.

My callsign is KI6KCW, and tomorrow I will finally be able to attend a ROC
launch, first one in about a year (Jack, watch out, I'll be coming your
way!)

We will be bringing the baby along for the show, hopefully he doesn't mind
the noise and dust (we will do our best to keep him out of the sun)
